Antalya Zoo
Antalya
Zoo is the largest zoo in Turkey, located in the northwestern part of Antalya,
14 km away from the central part of the city. The total area of the zoo is
569 thousand square meters.
The
zoo has been operating since 1989 and is home to over 1,600 representatives of
140 species of animals. Visitors of the zoo will agree that the animals are
kept in good conditions, the vast territory of the zoo allows you to maintain
the habitual living conditions for animals as much as possible.
Various
bird families, representatives of duck families, wild boars, hyenas, camels,
grizzly bears, hyenas, zebras, crocodiles, the Eru ostrich, macaw parrots,
deer, royal python, and many other species of animals can be found in the
Antalya Zoo.
There
is a part of the zoo called "Children's Zoo", where you can not only
see but also touch and feed animals, here you will find ponies, donkeys,
hares, dwarf goats and many farm animals.
There
are also reserves where animals of an endangered species live: Long-legged
Buzzard, Griffon Vulture, Cougar, Pink Pelican, Golden Eagle, Gray Crane,
Gazelle, Wolf, Eurasian Lynx, Otter.
The
territory also has a recreation area where you can have a picnic, you can use
the barbecue without fire, and there are gazebos, free basketball, and
volleyball courts.
Since
the zoo is located in a mountainous area, you can enjoy an incredible panorama
of Antalya and the park itself.
